The best time to visit:

June to October (dry season)

+ Sightings of wildlife more likely in the shorter grass and around watering holes

November to May (wet season)

+ Luscious green landscapes

+ Clear views of Kilimanjaro and Meru more likely from December to February

+ April and May is low season, the region is much quieter during this period

+ Excellent time of year for birdwatchers due to the presence of migratory birds

- Roads more difficult to navigate during the wet season

- Peak wet season is March to May with heavy downpours frequent
